River's Edge
November 20, 2019

Sitting along the river’s edge
I watch as life drifts by
Love that grips the slippery log
Is lost to rippling tides
Hopes and promises of wondrous things
Sink below shallow’s deceit
The safety of a solid branch
Consumed by surging defeat
Brilliance reflects notions to believe
Becoming shadows in the prospective deep
Rushing through grasps out of reach
Surrendering to endless release
Sitting along the river’s edge
I watch as lives drift by
Glancing up stream I see like a dream
My sisters’ tears descending
Great flood their hearts bleed
Wounds gaping from greed
These waters
Their pain overflowing
I reach for their hands
Sinking into the sands
Of this time
That relentlessly holds me
Drifting along the river’s edge
I grasp for fragments to build a bridge
To fill the illusion of right and wrong
With love respect and peace for all

For many centuries mankind has sought to reject the animalistic characters inside himself, to believe he is above and not one with the animal kingdom. It is not untrue that Man has neurological enhancements which could give him advantages over other species. However, what Man has quested to demonstrate since the evolution of his most beloved tool is that he is bigger, better, and more powerful than any other creature on Earth. He has attempted with fury to prove himself not only ruler of Earth, but God of all creation. In his attempts at domination, he has indeed taken over the planet. He has choked, squeezed, manipulated, poisoned, and annihilated the very Mother which gave him life and has done everything in his power to destroy her blessed Keepers. In his blind quest to rule over all “lesser beings,” Man has removed himself from the sacred Web of Life which connects all living things in this realm. Man cannot bear to see the animal within himself, thus he must destroy all prominent reminders that she exists. Truth be told, the amount of human brain inside of Man’s scull amounts to that of a pea in comparison to the Reptile and Animal instincts that actually control nearly all his thoughts and actions. If man wishes to be fruitful and survive, he must find a way to rule over himself first of all. He must stop, breathe, feel his senses, and open himself to the magic and wonder provided and offered by his Mother. Kneel down infant Son, to feel theEarth beneath you. She is your comfort, your security, and your guidance. Hear the calls of the animal kingdom surrounding you. They are wise and true, and they have been here Eons longer than you. In your attempts to fool the world, you fool only yourself. And so it is. Aho. –River Hawk

We Must be able to look at Ourselves and realize that the Violence and Suffering Begins and Ends within Us. When I lash out in anger or resentment, I cast a stone into the Waters of Humanity, whose Ripple reaches to Infinity. The Energy of my stone cast is far reaching and will mark the Hearts of Many. The same is True when I send out Love and Kindness to others. The wave of my Love reaches to the ends of the Universe and back again. Love the enemy's Hate for Love has the power to Heal. Teach by example and show the World that Connection with One Another and All That Is will Forever be our Inheritance. It is the Responsibility of each of us to Mend and Tend the Interconnections of our Planet. And so it is.
